3D Scanning Course at 3DLS
With the freely available viewer software, you can view, measure, and export scans in various formats. If you want to learn how to use the data effectively, we recommend one of the training courses below. Be aware that scanning and the associated processing have increasingly become their own specialized discipline. This is not something you can simply add on—the investments in hardware and software and especially the development and maintenance of routine have become too significant. Learn how to use point clouds in our 3D scanning course.
Point Clouds:
Because we regularly received questions about the viewer software, we developed a training course to help you get the most out of your scan data. After a half-day beginner training, you’ll be able to handle the data smartly and effectively and export it for CAD environments. Using the Scanner: Have you purchased a scanner but have no experience with preparing a scan project or processing the scans into a model? You can also come to us for these questions—in the form of training for beginners/advanced users or phone support.
Modeling with Point Clouds:
Point clouds are large and difficult to interpret for the uninitiated. With experience and the right tools, we help you get started with creating the right and efficient workflow.
Reverse Engineering:
Any physical model can be redesigned or duplicated for modification or inspection by digitizing/scanning with a 3D laser scanner. You can also create 3D models for technical drawings. By carefully analyzing an existing design, you can identify the components and their relationships. Doing so allows you to achieve a higher level of abstraction compared to the original design.
